At the Haberdashers’ Company, we make every effort to ensure the safety and security of your data. The purpose of this note is to explain what we do with the information you provide when signing up to receive communications from us.
The Haberdashers’ Company (the “Company”) is committed to complying with its data protection obligations, and to being concise, clear and transparent about how it obtains and use personal information, and how (and when) it deletes that information once it is no longer required.
This policy sets out how we comply with our data protection obligations set out in Retained Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the “UK GDPR”) and the Data Protection Act 2018 (“DPA”), and seek to protect the personal information of our members, staff, trustees, donors, school governors, beneficiaries, service users and other third parties who may come into contact with the Company.
The Haberdashers’ Company (also known as The Worshipful Company of Haberdashers and including the Haberdashers’ Foundation) (the “Company”) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This privacy notice sets out why we collect personal data, how we collect and use it and who it is shared with. It also explains the legal basis for the use of your personal data and the legal rights you have over the way it is used.
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will bring it to your attention directly.

The Company believes that a child or young person should never experience abuse of any kind. We have a duty of care to promote the welfare of all children and young people and to keep them safe. We are committed to work in a way that protects them by adhering to legal and best practice requirements and promoting a strong safeguarding culture. The welfare of the child or young person is paramount, as enshrined in the Children Act 1989. We recognise that all children, regardless of age, disability, gender, racial heritage, religious belief, sexual orientation or identity, have the right to equal protection from all types of harm or abuse. Some children are additionally vulnerable because of their level of dependency or their communication needs.
Code of conduct for adults in contact with children and young people under the age of 18
We all have a responsibility to keep children safe. This code outlines the conduct that the Haberdashers’ Company (the Company) expects from all members, trustees, employees, officers, consultants, freelancers, self-employed contractors, casual workers, agency workers, volunteers and interns (known for the purposes of this policy as ‘Company representatives’). The code is there to help us protect children and young people from abuse and to feel safe, respected and valued and to reduce the possibility of unfounded allegations of abuse being made against you. Everyone taking part in our activities must agree to follow the code of conduct.
