One Young World is a UK-based charity, which aims to bring together future leaders to drive positive change. The annual One Young World Summit convenes the brightest young talent from every country and sector, working to accelerate social impact. The delegates from 190 countries are counselled by influential political, business and humanitarian leaders. At the end of the Summit, delegates become Ambassadors. They return to their communities and organisations with the means and motivation to make a difference, accelerating existing initiatives or establishing new ventures.
The Rt Hon The Lord Mayor, Alderman Peter Estlin, hosted a wide range of business and finance ambassadors at Mansion House during the summit earlier this year and he reached out to the Livery Companies to host collaborative events in their own halls.
The Great XII Companies agreed to host a dinner for 150 people at Drapers' Hall, which happened last night. The dinner provided an opportunity to promote the Square Mile and its ongoing importance to future world leaders and, more specifically, to showcase the work of the Liveries and the integral role they have played, and continue to play, in our city.
There were three Livery Company hosts at each table and our young Haberdashers hosted table 8 - in the words of Chris Achiampong, Freeman - 'our superbly talented and diverse table'.
