New Partnership for Haberdashers' Company with London College of Fashion

The Haberdashers’ Company is excited to begin a new partnership with London College of Fashion, offering one postgraduate student the chance to become the ‘Haberdashers’ Scholar’.

Until the mid-1600s the Haberdashers were fashion retailers, specialising in accessories. From hats to handbags, the Haberdashers were experts in this unique and dedicated trade.

The Haberdashers’ Company continues to maintain strong links with its fashion heritage by partnering a wide range of educational and entrepreneurial establishments.

However, many talented students are simply unable to afford the basic expenses of living in London, including travel, accommodation and materials.

This scholarship seeks to address this by supporting one student for the duration of their Masters degree, and makes postgraduate study a viable option for a student from a less advantaged background.

Professor Roni Brown, Head of London College of Fashion, said “I would like to thank the Haberdashers’ Company for awarding a postgraduate scholarship at LCF. The College is committed to supporting young talent and to ensuring that all of our students can thrive, regardless of financial background. This support arrives at a time when our postgraduate students are facing significant challenges, and they will be equally delighted by the news.”

This new partnership with the London College of Fashion further establishes the Haberdashers’ desire to maintain its roots in its fashion past while driving forward 21st century vision and excellence. The Haberdashers’ Company embraces creativity, diversity and innovation and is proud to offer the Haberdashers’ Scholarship in recognition of this.
