Rachel TilleyMonmouth School for GirlsRachel is a scientist and engineer at Mars Wrigley, working as a Quality and Food Safety Scientist responsible for seasonal chocolate (Easter and Christmas) production. “Working in seasonal chocolate is a funny thing as you are always out of sync because we start the Christmas production in the summer,” she says. “As a life-long chocoholic, I can say that I am still not bored with trying the products!” |
Rachel took A levels in Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Further Maths (3A*s and 1A) before reading Chemical Engineering at Cambridge. “I built on my successful rowing career at school by representing Christ’s College, Cambridge. While at Cambridge, I won the British University Championships and two Varsity matches as captain (gaining Full Blues), and was head of the Women’s Blues Committee," she says. “I learnt from a young age at school the importance of balancing academics with extra-curricular activities.” Rachel sails at international levels through the Royal Thames Yacht Club, where she is Chair of its Academy programme. |
