The first of the 2026 Charities RoundTables met in April. This is our twice-yearly gathering of the charity founders and CEOs who lead our Small Grant charity partners.
This is an impressive group of professionals of whom the Company is very proud. Working in relentless circumstances – funds are hard to come by, the need is ever greater, and costs are spiralling – the afternoon offered a moment to reflect and pause.
Using the Action Learning Set model, they come together to discuss their challenges and gather possible ways of reframing those and come up with solutions, or simply a different way of thinking about the problem.
Much of the conversation centred around the challenge of funding, especially accessing it from corporate organisations. Some discussed the challenge of staffing and leading teams as their organisations grow.
And of course, some good old Haberdashers’ hospitality was very well received.
We welcomed Link Up London to the event, a charity working in a similar way to the Company by offering added value to small charities via professional and skilled volunteering.
