Last week, audiences were treated to a musical triumph like no other in central London.
The Haberdashers’ Music Festival returned for its fourth year at the stunning Milton Court Concert Hall at the Barbican, London. Students from the Haberdasher secondary schools came together to form a Wind Orchestra, Jazz Band, Choir and Orchestra; celebrating collaboration, creativity and community.
Students came together in the morning, many of whom had never met before, for a full day of rehearsing and music practice.
Pupils headed to St Barts the Less, Milton Court and took over Haberdashers’ Hall for their rehearsals throughout the day.
It was fantastic to see all the students build new friendships and experience the power of music to unite.
Hats off to Haberdashers’ Adams who travelled down to London from Shropshire and back all in the same day!
Throughout the evening, professional musician and Haberdasher member, Matthew Knight, interviewed sets of student musicians about their relationship with their instruments and music in general.
The evening ended with a joyful massed performance of ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams, featuring over 300 students on their feet clapping and dancing… and even some willing audience members. A truly memorable celebration of our Habs family.
