My journey with Haberdashers has been one of growth, inspiration and opportunity. As a student I was able to be part of a school community that was incredibly supportive and motivating. I received countless opportunities and the support I received from my teachers inspired me to become one myself.
My teachers went above and beyond for me and was truly invested in both my academics and personal growth. I saw firsthand how powerful and important teaching can be, not just academically but in shaping lives.
Today I am proud to say I am a member of the Haberdashers Company and now a staff member at my own school. I was lucky enough to be given an Apprenticeship studying Youth Work which I am extremely passionate about. I genuinely love what I do. The support I have received from my Line Manager Lee and Uni Mentor Gina has made a real difference which I am so thankful for.
A key figure in this journey has been my former Head of Sixth Form and now colleague, Emma Prior. Emma has been more than an educator to me, she has been a role model, netball coach, mentor and a great friend. As a woman in leadership she shows strength, compassion and dedication in everything she does. Her guidance and support has been instrumental in my journey and has truly inspired me to go above and beyond in everything I do.
Her leadership has shown me the importance of representation, especially for young women in education. She has not only inspired me to become a teacher but to be a leader who uplifts others, just as she has done for me and countless others.
Looking ahead, I am especially interested in progressing into behaviour support, where I can make a meaningful difference in helping students navigate challenges and reach their full potential.
Haberdashers is more than just a school, it’s a community and a family. I am honoured to be part of this and my biggest goal now is to give back by supporting and inspiring my students in the same way I was supported.
