We are delighted to announce that Kemi Ajose, a Co We are delighted to announce that Kemi Ajose, a Cockpit charity partner scholar of the Company, has been selected as one of the Lady Mayor’s Apprentices, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the textiles and fashion sector.

We are absolutely thrilled for Kemi whose appointment follows a competitive nomination process and reflects both her individual achievement and her growing reputation as an emerging maker.

Kemi has also been active in supporting our Habs students during Haberdashers' Advantage Character programme days at the Hall - sharing her knowledge and inspiring the next generation of artists. A great example of our charity partners and schools working together to create more resilience and creative communities.

The Haberdashers' Foundation is thrilled to announ The Haberdashers' Foundation is thrilled to announce a major milestone this March, as it now raises an impressive £100,000 each year, thanks entirely to the generous regular donations from our members.

Unbeknownst to him, Rhys Major, set up his regular gift just days after he joined the Company. His contribution helped us reach that significant milestone.

The tradition of giving runs deeply through the Company, with members donating their time, skills and money to support the Company deliver on its purpose of 'empowering young people to achieve their potential through our schools and by supporting their communities.'

Serendipitously, Rhys was at school at Haberdashers' Monmouth, and in 2017 he received a small grant from the Company as a contribution to the costs of a Legal Practice Course. His report from that experience includes the line ‘I look forward also to supporting and involving myself in as many ways as possible with the Haberdashers’ Company and contributing in any way with the work of the Company, as it is the least I can do to repay such generosity’. We're delighted that he has kindly followed through on that ambition.

We all know we need to get round to writing our wi We all know we need to get round to writing our will. But life is busy and it slips down our to-do list. So, we’ve come up with a novel way to help you give that won’t cost you anything today. It should also help you deal with something that you’ve probably been meaning to tackle…

That why we've partnered with expert online will writers, Octopus Legacy, to offer our members the chance to write their will free of cost this #freewillmonth

Habs has articulated its purpose with clarity: to empower young people from every background to fulfil their potential through our schools and by supporting their communities.

This builds on 700 years of history, standing on the shoulders of visionary Haberdashers. Yet we are not here merely to preserve their legacy—we are actively shaping the world of tomorrow.

Today’s world presents unprecedented challenges for young people preparing for their futures. Economic uncertainty, technological disruption, and social inequality mean the gap between aspiration and opportunity continues to widen.

Leaving a gift in your will to the Haberdashers' Foundation means leaving a legacy for generations to come.

Earlier this week, 52 Year 12 students from 24 sch Earlier this week, 52 Year 12 students from 24 schools came together in mixed teams to compete in the 3rd Livery Entrepreneurs’ Challenge.

Working against the clock, they’ll managed a simulated mobile phone business on the same digital platform found in business schools and corporate L&D departments. Their task? Improve profitability while balancing customer and employee satisfaction.

This is leadership in action from the City of London Corporation’s Livery companies. If we want students to be ready for the workplace, we need to give our young people access to the tools — and the decision-making responsibility ahead of time.

The students made decisions, learnt from their mistakes, and used critical analysis and teamwork to move forward.

The Livery Entrepreneurs’ Challenge is an ongoing collaboration between The Worshipful Company of Entrepreneurs and The Haberdashers' Company. It was hosted at the Haberdashers’ Hall and facilitated by Enterprise Skills. It is just one of the many Haberdashers’ Advantage events that we undertake to support the next generation in fulfilling their potential.

Thanks to the Entrepreneur’s team for leading the day so smoothly.

Last year, Habs lifted the trophy. This year Leathersellers took home first place. Well done to The Mercers' Company, The Worshipful Company of Grocers, The Skinners' Company, Merchant Taylors' Company, The Drapers' Company for all taking part!
We were delighted to host the Next Generation Asse We were delighted to host the Next Generation Assessment Conference at Haberdashers' Hall, bringing together education practitioners to explore how innovation and equity can shape future assessment practice.

The event aligned with our submission to the Curriculum and Assessment Review and helped us reflect on what a Haberdasher education might look like in the years ahead. Speakers shared powerful insights, including a student’s account of how exam pressure affected her confidence—reinforcing that no child should leave education feeling diminished.

As we consider challenges such as AI and differing stakeholder expectations, these conversations will continue across our schools and with partners across the sector.

Each year, our nine Haberdasher secondary schools Each year, our nine Haberdasher secondary schools are invited to send one talented competitor to take part in the annual Young Musician of the Year competition.

Now in its sixth year, and part of the Haberdashers’ Advantage – Character programme, the competition seeks to build a sense of community between pupils across the schools, providing cultural capital and character development opportunities.

Our nine competitors delighted the judges and audience with a diverse range of performances on clarinet, violin, piano, cello and vocals. Congratulations to @habsadamsmusic student, Arjun, in Year 13, who performed Liebestraume by Liszt beautifully on the grand piano.

Arjun reflected: “The competition was an amazing experience. Even though there are many Haberdashers with impressive jobs and titles, everyone is always really friendly and they always go out of their way to talk to you. The competition itself was fierce, and I’m honoured to have been chosen as the winner! Despite being really nervous beforehand, performing in front of the Haberdashers was a fun and rewarding experience.”

Taking A-levels in Economics, English, Maths and Music, Arjun has accepted an offer to study Music at the University of Cambridge and plans to follow this with a law conversion course. We wish him all the best.
