Step through the heavy iron gates, into one of London’s best kept secrets.
Haberdashers’ Hall in the heart of the City of London is where tradition meets modernity and nowhere is that more apparent than in the breathtaking art and sculpture that call the Hall home.
This iconic venue is not just a fabulous entertaining space, but it is also home of some of the most famous pieces of art outside of public museums in the world.
Admire the Draped Reclining Figure by Henry Moore whilst you sip champagne with your guests. Moore created this from in the late 1950s and drew his inspiration from the damaged and reclining forms seen in surviving Greek sculpture. He makes a startling post war 20th Century allusion to this classical material.
Observe also in the Courtyard, Merlin, by Bridget McCrum, a commission in 2011 for Sir John Rose (formerly Chairman of Rolls Royce). It commemorates the famous merlin engine in a Spitfire WW2 Warplane and also the falcon bird of prey that carries the name. Thus, the Merlin sculpture represents the form of a wheeling bird in flight and simultaneously a banking aeroplane.
Sitting in another corner is Lynn Chadwick’s Sitting Couple – a fitting tribute to two people tying the knot for the rest of their lives. Conceived in 1990, it was created during a period when he tapped into a new vein of inspiration, largely prompted by his re-discovered use of welded steel as a medium.

Many couples remark that the Water Sculpture by William Pye is their favourite piece in the Hall. A water sculpture was chosen for this spot as it was the former site of a Medieval well – once again tapping into centuries of London history.
Whether Habs Hall is chosen to host a small intimate wedding breakfast or the grandest of celebrations, the venue is bursting with incredible pieces that you’ll find nowhere else.
The space is available for your exclusive use, including the stunning outdoor courtyard, meaning your special day does not have to be shared with anyone else but your guests… and the work of great artists.
